Jewish Council for the Aging, Rockville, Maryland

JCA helps older adults in the Greater Washington, D.C. region maintain independence, dignity, vitality and self-respect.

46 and still growing

A big thanks to everyone who helped make JCA’s 46th annual meeting and awards ceremony such a success.
JCA had a great year, awarding actor Louis Gossett Jr. with our Blajwas Productive Aging Award, adding a third Gorlitz Kensington Club and helping nearly 31,000 older adults and family caregivers this year.
At our Oct. 17 annual meeting, we presented our Advocate for the Aging Award to Hank Greenberg, AARP Maryland State Director. Our Jacqueline Unger Community Service Award went to Rabbi Kenneth Block, who volunteers with our Mobility Management and Outreach programs. Koranee Peppe, JCA grant writer coordinator, received the Ruth Breslow-Young Staff Award of Excellence.
Special shout outs go to Board Member Gregroy Wims for officiating, Rabbi Michael J. Safra of B’Nai Israel Congregation for his moving memorial to Past President Sheldon Grosberg and Alexis Bock Robbins, director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s strategic planning and allocations, for her warm greetings.
